    How it works

      Pick a spot

      Ten zones on the lid, three sizes. Large banners along the top, medium spots framing the ThinkPad logo, small squares along the bottom edge.

      Place your bid

      Name your price — at least €10 above the current bid. A 20% deposit reserves the spot once your bid is approved; the rest is due only when the auction closes. Outbid? Your deposit comes straight back.

      Your brand rides along

      A high-quality vinyl sticker of your logo goes on the lid and travels with me — offices in Zurich and Sofia, conferences, coworking spaces and cafés across Europe.

    Questions, answered.

    How does the auction work?
    Each of the ten spots is its own mini-auction. You place a bid at least €10 above the current one; once I approve it, it becomes the live bid and the previous holder is notified. Whoever holds the highest bid when the auction closes gets the spot.
    What is the 20% deposit for?
    It keeps bids honest. After your bid is approved I'll send a payment link for 20% of it (minimum €10). If you get outbid, the deposit is refunded in full. If you win, the remaining 80% is due when the auction closes and the sticker is printed.
    Can I be outbid?
    Yes — until the auction closes, every spot stays open. You'll get an email if someone beats your bid, with a link to bid again. Your earlier deposit is credited towards the new one.
    What can I put on the sticker?
    Your logo, wordmark or a short tagline. I print on matte vinyl so it looks good on the dark carbon-fibre lid — light or single-colour logos work best. No adult, gambling, or political content, and nothing I'd be uncomfortable carrying into a client meeting.
    Where will the laptop actually be seen?
    I work between Zurich and Sofia and travel regularly through Poland and Germany — fintech meetups, crypto and .NET conferences, coworking spaces and a lot of cafés. The lid is open most of the day, usually facing a room.
    How long does the sticker stay on?
    Twelve months from the day it goes on, or until I retire the machine — whichever comes later. I'll send a photo when it's applied and occasional updates from the road.
    Do I get proof?
    Yes. A photo of the finished lid, plus a link from the auction table to your website for as long as you hold the spot.
    Why are you doing this?
    Partly to pay for the laptop, mostly because it's a fun experiment in how much attention a lid gets. If it works, I'd like to open it up so others can auction their own — join the waitlist below.
